One of the ways HMG National works to influence the early childhood field at large is by showcasing work at conferences and publishing work in academic journals. Promising Practices Supporting Early Childhood Transitions in Wisconsin: Eight Case Studies
- This study was done by UW Madison for the Department of Children and Families, looking at the promising practices that are supporting early childhood transitions. The project sought to understand how communities can better support families as they navigator various transitions in the early years by learning from promising practices and well-aligned systems. The project was funded by the Preschool Development Grant.

- This spotlight highlights the role of First 5 Fox Valley in using Help Me Grow as a key to aligning early childhood systems.

HMG New Jersey

Analysis of Race and Ethnicity Referral Data to Ensure Equitable Access to Home Visiting Programs in New Jersey
- This project’s interactive Racial Ethnicity Dashboards analyze referral data to ensure families referred reflect the community demographics for the NJ MIECHV program. Family Health Initiatives embedded the interactive Dashboards on the Connecting NJ Link website for users to access.
A Bird’s Eye View of Racial and Ethnic Disparities for Selected Postpartum Behaviors Post-Exposure to Maternal Health Education/Support, PRAMS 2016-2021
- NJ has many initiatives that offer access to childbirth education (CBE) and evidence-based home visits (EBHV). NJ MIECHV is one of the programs that support 1,530 vulnerable families in diverse communities. This project provides a statistical analysis of the association between CBE and/or EBHV, selected postpartum behaviors, and racial/ethnic disparities.

Materials from the 2023 HMG National Virtual Event

The 14th Annual HMG National Forum embraced thirteen years of experience hosting the Forum both in-person and virtually and offered the best of all worlds with the first Forum Week In-Person Summit and Virtual Event. In total, Forum Week 2023 consisted of two full in-person days and one virtual day of presentations and networking featuring 93 speakers and over 540 attendees from 36 states. Co-hosted by HMG North Texas, the agenda for the two events featured HMG affiliate-led content sessions, national partner-led intensive sessions, two keynote addresses, and networking opportunities.
