Part of the HMG National Center’s Building Connections initiative, the HMG National Messaging & Communications Network (MCN) aims to provide targeted support to all those working on HMG communications, marketing, messaging, and branding across the National Affiliate Network.
MCN provides opportunities to convene, connect, learn together and from one another, jointly problem-solve around common challenges, and build a network of support, knowledge, and experience that aims to strengthen HMG communications as a whole.
About MCN
Do you ever struggle to explain what HMG is? Do partners ever misunderstand the Model or feel it is duplicative with existing work? Is it challenging to explain the benefits of a system-level approach? Could you use help tailoring your HMG messaging to different audiences and stakeholders? Would you like to meet others across the National Affiliate Network who have similar challenges and possibly materials, strategies, and tools to share with you?
If you answered yes to any of the above, the HMG National Center is excited to invite you to participate in our new HMG National Messaging & Communications Network!
HMG is Collaboration, Not Competition | November 21, 2024
HMG is Collaboration, Not Competition.
If you ever encounter misunderstandings about HMG when talking to partners, you’re not alone. When you explain HMG to new or even existing partners, do you hear things like:
“HMG is a screening program, and screening is already happening here.”
“Isn’t that what early intervention/Part C is for?”
“We don’t need another program that will only compete with the existing programs in our community.”
If unaddressed, these types of misconceptions can result in confusion, negatively impact opportunities for partnership, and limit potential growth of your system.
In the HMG National Messaging & Communications Network (MCN) session, HMG is Collaboration, Not Competition, we spent time learning and considering:
- What are common myths about HMG?
- What are common communications challenges facing HMG work?
- How do HMG systems fix or remedy these challenges?
HMG Isn't a Program | September 16, 2024
Help Me Grow Isn’t a Program. It’s a Collective Effort to Ensure an Efficient System of Care is There for Families. Let’s Talk About It.
In order to be successful in talking about HMG to various audiences – families, health providers, partners, funders, and more – we need to really understand it ourselves. So what does it mean that HMG isn’t a program but rather a system-building initiative? And what is system-building anyway?
In the HMG National Messaging & Communications Network (MCN) session, HMG Isn’t a Program. It’s a Collective Effort to Ensure an Efficient System of Care is There for Families. Let’s Talk About It, we spent time learning and considering:
- What is an early childhood system?
- What does it mean to build a comprehensive early childhood system?
- How does HMG help to build strong systems of care and support?
- What’s the difference between HMG and a program?
